Help for newbie - Can the zabbix proxy replace server to get data when server down ?

Hi all,
I'm new to Zabbix so like the title i would like to ask If i have both Server and Proxy running then one day the Server down ((i.e. power loss or network cable unplugged, etc) Can the Proxy replace the job of Server to collect data from all host. If it can then how can i configure it. Any keyword for me to research ??

Thanks for the reply but can i ask what is different between both Local and Offline buffer !? It's hard to understand this one "Proxy will keep data for N hours in case of no connectivity with Zabbix server.
Older data will be lost" ? It's mean those old data from proxy will lost when the server online again ?.

Hi splitek, sorry for late reply cause I have another problems to solved. Btw i'm still dont understand how the Proxy Local Buffer and Offline Buffer because I've try to set both on the parameter to 3 but when I tested. I'm shutdown the Server 2 hours and start it again the proxy don't sent any data it collected to the server. The problem is did i miss something or do it wrong ??. Thanks for helping me.

Hi, I've try different ways but still cannot make the proxy send data to server when the server was offline . Did I missed something or do I need to configure something in Server ???. Thanks
