    Shared Memory Monitoring

    Hello all,

I would like to monitor shared memory on a windows server.
I saw that there is vm.memory.size[shared] but unfortunately it's not
    supported for windows.
Is there any value that I can use in a performance counter maybe?
Can someone share his idea on how to do it?

    Cheers,
    Fotis

The concept of memory 'share' is the unix.
Not that windows does not have a share memory, just called different (manages memory differently).
To do what you need you would have to read about perf_counter

Sorry Flako, but your answer wasn't very useful.
If you read again my initial post, I already mention Performance Counters and actually I'm asking if there is any value that I can use..

        .
mm, if it is useful to respond with a chewed response (resolved), as it is not useful ...
If you look at the performance of windows or zabbix documentation of this reply. (sorry I will not do for you)

I'm sorry but I can't understand your English.
You don't have to be upset for not finding your answer useful.
I didn't ask for a solution, I asked some ideas on how to do this.
          Cheers

The short answer for your question, Fotis, is "NO"
You cannot monitor "shared" memory on a windows server. (easily)
There are no performance counter to control it or system tools to monitor it.

But! The Best Guy in the Windows Monitoring world - Mark Russinovich - wrote the utility to monitor physical and virtual memory
            VMMap

You can use it to control the virtual memory for the process and - if it have cli interface - you can use it to collect information in Zabbix Agent UserParameter.

And, as I already said, it's not easy.
            Sorry
            Sincerely yours,
            Aleksey

              Thank you Aleksey,
I had a feeling that it won't be easy to do.
I'll have a look on your suggestion and I hope that it will help me.

              Cheers,
              Fotis
