Several Windows Active Agents with same hostnames

Currently I have over 2000 hosts to monitor from different sites, the issue is that there is a lot of servers with same hostname (ir. APPSERVER) and change the hostname is not an option. I have tried to find some information on internet, but not been able to find something that were usefull. Any of you know how to deal with that (some tips found on internet suggest to use system.uname but it have not worked for me due to I have not been able to find a detailed guide) - Thanks in advance for your help.

You cannot register a host with the same name on Zabbix. If the host name on Zabbix matches the value specified in Hostname in zabbix_agentd.conf, it can be monitored. The host name on the OS set for each host and the host name on Zabbix may be different.

great to know, thanks for the tip, it´s simple but sometimes really hard to fine updated info (on previous version it was a rule to habe same host name on the OS and Zabbix)

You may need to use dns names or ip addresses as an identifier
