Zabbix (Docker image) doesn't have SNMP

    Hi,

I've installed and setup Zabbix (server+agent) in Docker but struggling to get SNMP monitoring working... checked and I can't run snmpwalk in both the docker containers so looks like it's not there

Am I missing something? Would appreciate any help

I would like the answer on this as well. Discovery shows that the SNMP ports are open, but SNMP is not available.

Sure it works, I'm using stock zabbix containers for snmp monitoring just configure snmp interface on host an make sure nw connection is ok usually to port 161 - double check snmp credentials and add proper template

snmpwalk is kinda troubleshooting tools not needed for snmp monitoring in Zabbix - snmp get is done by zabbix proxy or zabbix server natively

I'm running Zabbix Docker on a Synology. Not sure if that makes a difference or are there any limitations with this setup.

This is not a problem with Synology. I am facing the same issue with Zabbix docker running on an Ubuntu 22.04/armv7 machine.

            Did anyone have any luck?
I've got installed on a Ubuntu 24 server, everything fine.

I've setup a few SNMP devices some work some don't so wanted to do a snmp walk from inside the container but can't. smnpwalk isn't recognised or can't install via apt install

snmpwalk program is still not inside containers released by zabbix But this does not prevent the functions of the zabbix server itself from working with snmp.

Build your container based on the standard one. This still needs to be done sometimes. For example, I continue to use the old python notification script and also the menu for launching some programs from the server -
              mtr, whois.
