Zabbix 5.0 - Cannot connect to database

    Hello,

I install the latest version of Zabbix using this procedure : https://www.zabbix.com/download?zabb...ysql&ws=apache

For information I'm running my Zabbix on my Rasberry on Buster 10, with apache2 and mysql database.

All went pretty well, expect at the end when I try to configure the database, I get the following error :

Name:	En0cj1tnLm.png
Views:	897
Size:	35.4 KB
ID:	396755
I tried several things, did a frontend upgrade, downgrade, restarted zabbix-server... copied file from /usr/share/zabbix to /var/www/zabbix and none of it worked

Pretty new to Zabbix, so any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Cheers

No, you installed a pre-release "alpha" version. It seems like the 5.0 development version may be nearing having a "beta" release, but I still wouldn't recommend that to someone that is new to the product.

If you're new to Zabbix, you probably want to start with either the 4.0 long term support (LTS) series or the 4.4 series, which is the latest released "new features" series.

Regarding the package for Raspbian, the package named zabbix-frontend-php disappeared from Zabbix 5.0.0alpha2, and there seems to be a package named zabbix-frontend-php-deprecated. If you guess from the name deprecated, isn't it a deprecated package?

I can not confirm because I do not have a Raspbian environment, but please try to build an environment using the package zabbix-frontend-php-deprecated.

First of all thanks for your answers, to be honest I already had 4.4 installed but I needed to re-install my Rasberry with the latest OS, so I decided to go with the 5.0 version, that was maybe not a so good idea ^^

Well maybe if can install one these deprecated packages maybe I'll have my frontend. I'll try it as soon as reach my office... If it doesn't work so well, I'll just uninstall everything and go with the last stable version (4.4)

Anyways thanks for your inputs, appreciated
