How do I enter an email address that does not belong to a user to the operation page.

The goal: When a trigger fires a "high" event, send an email to our HelpDesk system that will auto-generate an incident. Let's say the address is [email protected].

I have created a Media type that contains address "[email protected]" and the appropriate email servers.

I am now trying to create Action "Create Incident". The operation detail screen requires that I enter a User Group or User, I cannot leave those blank and just enter the Media in the "Send Only To" dropdown box. This is a not a real user and will never log in to the zabbix server. Do I have to create a dummy entry to successfully create an operation and save the action?

Hi Dave,

indeed, you have to create a dummy "notification user", and assign the Media you just created (you will have a space to enter the destination email).

Once its done, you can create your action, and select the User and Media to send the notification in that action.
