Need help extracting date from a string using dependent item

Hi,
I've got UserParameter that returns me this string Mar 18 23:50
How can I use dependent item (or any other way for that matter) to turn this into date-time format to be able to use it in triggers?

Solved this problem with some unix commands. Now it returns unix epoch timestamp, which is fine. But I've got another issue now. I need to monitor if that time stamp is less (older) than X hours and fire a trigger when it is. How can I do that?
