I have a hostgroup with a number of Citrix Delivery Controllers. They are all load balanced / redundant for each other. I want to gather stats on various Citrix related things. I can query any one of the machines to get that data. I'd rather not query all of them all of the time. And I only want triggers to fire once, not for every server. Is there a method to do that? I can just assign an item or template to a single machine, I guess. That seems messy if that machine is taken down for maintenance or is retired. I don't want to have to remember to assign that template to another machine.
My thoughts are along the lines of a pseudo host in that hostgroup that grabs the data from one of them and has triggers there? Maybe something using dependencies? I'm hoping someone has a clever solution.
