Zabbix Proxies issue

Hey there Zabbix geeks,

I have a question about proxies I searched almost everywhere and couldn't find an exact answer to it.

With a proxy it collects data from all the hosts that are connected with it.

For example:

When the proxy is down. It usually send gives an issue about the proxy and all the hosts that are connected to it.

While it seems to be logical to only give an issue about the proxy, because if the proxy is not working it cant receive any more issue from the other hosts below the proxy. It is not workable to get like hundreds of issues and mails if the proxy is down.

I can't seems to find a solution to this problem, anyone out there that can help me?

I don't actually know how to do this but can't you put in your triggers to check if the proxy is down?

If it is down - don't fire the trigger
If it isn't down - fire the trigger
