Hi I've finally got my triggers working for some devices we monitor with the basic up / down functionality. The triggers then drive an action which in turn email/sms alerts a third party.
I'm having problems getting my head around the online trigger though.
We check for when a site / device is offline (no icmp reply) for 20 minutes (We polll at 60 second intervals.) we email or sms alert a third party telling them about the device. For that I use:
This works well, and so does the online check which is
However there is one exception and I can't figure out how to resolve this. If the site doesn't reply to ICMP for say 5 mins, and then does reply for 20 minutes we get an alert sent saying that the device is online.
Can anyone assist with advising how I could possible create a check that checks for the site being down for 20 mins, and then online for 20 mins after the down event before triggering the trigger.
