If I've got zabbix running on a number of different systems, which might give me a way to detect if new WiFi SSIDs have appeared? Or if some have disappeared?
I'm specifically NOT looking to monitor the WiFI network a device is currently using. Which I could see some wanting.
Rather what other SSIDs that might be coming/going. For a couple of reasons. One being the detection of a vehicle that has WiFi. Another being detecting potential rogue hotspots. Still another would be more fine-grained, monitoring for channel overlap/interference (this would be low on my list, at the moment).
I've got linux, freebsd, windows and unifi equipment available. Most of the hardware has a wired connection. I could, potentially add a WiFi network interface to some systems, or activate ones if they already have it present, if that would provide a way to get this info.
Any suggestions on which platform to consider?
