we need to monitor the database availability for report purposes.
We would like to have item which will connect from zabbix server to database on different server without using zabbix client - connection will go through oracle listener.
in the target database we need to execute simple sql select, output will be 1 - OK or different number - WARNING.
I tried to investigate the ODBC option and item of type 'Database monitor' but it seems to me that I am not able to put the connection details (db name and hostanem) as a variable ...
Is there any easy way how to accomplish?
