Less than 25% free in the configuration cache

    Has anyone had this issue?

We are migrating to a new version of Zabbix 2.4, and recently started receiving this message on our server. The odd thing is that we have increased the configuration cache size to its max size(8GB) and the message has not gone away. So no matter what the setting is 4MB or 8GB the percentage stays at 15%.

    Some things we have checked:

Our current Zabbix 1.8.5 has the cache setting at the default.
Our current Zabbix 1.8.5 has in total 11936 hosts/items/triggers
Our new Zabbix 2.4 has in total 6024 hosts/items/triggers

    Any ideas would be helpful.

    Thank you

I have seen a few times where people have made changes to their conf file where it did not take effect for one of three reasons:

    - They made the change on the original line and left the comment (# sign) preceding the line, in which case Zabbix still uses the default setting.

    - They failed to restart the Zabbix server process after making the change.

    - They changed the wrong item in the config file.

If you are not seeing any change when going from 4MB to 8GB, then something was not done correctly.

Thank you for the response tchjts1,

We have verified all 3 of these things that you have mentioned. However, that did strike a cord that how could all 3 of these things been done and there was still no change? Well...we were modifying the wrong file. Yup, pretty silly, The compiled version of the app is not in the default location which is the file we were modifying (the one in the default location)

So thanks again, just needed a fresh point of view to jog the memory.
