IMHO It is a big mistake to configure SNMP on Windows instead of installing a simple and normally working service. Especially since the agent allows you to do a lot.
I know. But sometime you cannot install any additional software because of company policy or specific restriction such as preapproved (10 years ago) configuration of hardware and software.
It depends on what do you mean by "monitor Windows Server". If you're looking for few specific metrics it is possible to create a cmd/powershell script to collect them and write results to file. Then create scheduled task to run this script every 5 minutes and copy file to network or local share.
Then create "parent" item on Zabbix server to pull this this file and parse into individual "dependent items". Works perfect for me since upgrade to version 3.4.
