Zabbix Items not updating
Hi All,
I am in the process of testing zabbix. And for the record this is very cool in what it can do so var...... but I ran in some issues recently hope some of can assit me in the following problem.
Some of the agents are not reporting all of the items back to the server. Or some of the items is only been updated on server. ( but 1 or 2 servers are reporting all items back???)
I have had a look at the item per server and didnt find that it was disabled.
As a last resort I remove the host and readded the host only to find that only certain items gets updated again.
In the server log is the following :" Host [mdshodc1] will be checked after 120 seconds
004412:20060911:113350 Connection reset by peer. "
Had a look at the client and didnt find any funnies ......
In this case the cpu % , application log gets items is updated .(Thats all)
Also try to restart agent, reinstall and changed config .. No luck ... changed time out setting .. no luck...
The server is currently only monitoring 65 routers, and only 7 windows servers and 3 linux server. I need to find out if I am doing someting wrong in the configuration or is there a limitation of the server / client....
We need to monitor 80 routers ,71 windows servers, 10 linux servers....
Setup:
1x Zabbix server version 1.1.1 running on Fedora Core 4
- mysql
- 2 x NIC (1x 1Gb and 100mb)
- HW = P4 2.8G 1G RAM 72GB RAID 5
- Agents running on Windows 2000 SP4 , Windows 2003 SP1 , Red Hat 9 / 10.

Your the man!!! thanks for that .. after changing the agentd conf file by added the extra ip addresss all work 100%
