    Multi-site Setup

Hello, i'm new to zabbix, so far i like it but i have to make it accepted by my boss(btw sorry for my english it's a second language). to do this i need to make it working in our multiple site environement, I saw the proxies feature that is closed to what i'm looking for , the only issue is that if i lost internet connexion, i can'T access to my GUI who will be on a remote site. So i would like to know if it's possible to create Zabbix server 1 on site 1 zabbix server 2 on site to ... and a zabbix server master that could access the whole data. in case Site 1 lost internet, the local IT will still be able to monitor the rest of his local network. I was looking in fact for a solution close to the old Nodes feature.

    Thank you

    Hi vmartin,

To understand your need, what do you have hosted on remote plants that need to be monitored? (no detail asked, of course)
More precisely, do you really need a physical Zabbix server hosted on the remote plant?
Can't you just install one and only one server where you are, add remote hosts from plant 1, plant 2 and plant 3, and give access to the local IT?
Then manage everything per plant, each host from plant 1 will be in host group "PLANT1" and only user alpha will have access to, while "PLANT2" group will have its own hosts that only user beta will manage, etc etc

In my opinion, topic starter has many IT members spread around many plants.
So, he would like to have access for each IT member for at least some local data.

In my company we are using AWS based Zabbix server and local proxy for each "plant". In that case we collect data from as many plants as it are available in any moment of time. All disconnected proxy collecting and storing data locally until connection will be restored. Then they are sending data in bulk to main Zabbix server.
And yes, you must have connection to cloud to have an access to front-end.

      Sorry.
