Coming from Icinga2 to Zabbix 5 and have a few questions

    An examples would be great.

What is the best way to exclude Windows services in version 5? If it is to use overrides, can someone walk me through this process? UPDATE: I think I'm starting to understand the overrides. I still welcome any examples but I think I'm starting to get it.

I'm trying to use the NetApp Ontap 9.5 plugin from share.zabbix.com and noticed that one of the items being checked for free space seems to be reporting backwards (it thinks X% is free but it is really X%used). Does anyone know where I can make a change to have it check it properly?

If I am monitoring 10 Windows hosts and I get a disk space alert on one of them but I think the % is OK for that one server, how can I adjust it so that one server alerts at a higher % etc.

Icinga2 has a plugin called a business process module located here https://icinga.com/docs/businessprocess/latest/ . Can Zabbix offer some sort of similar functionality? The idea being to create a dashboard that maybe a manager or someone can look at to see that a particular service and all its dependencies are OK, degraded, down, etc.. It sounds like maybe Zabbix Services are the right thing? If that is true, can they make a dashboard that it easy to view? UPDATE: I think I understand this now with services. I'm still not sure if it is easy to make a dashboard to display the data to a manager for example.

I'm guessing that your first two questions relate to specific pre-defined templates that you may be using, but you don't explicitly say that, and although we might guess what they are, it's easier to help if you provide that information.

There are lots and lots of templates available for Zabbix. The recently-updated official templates have been greatly improved over previous versions. One of the best things about the official templates is that they make excellent use of macros , especially user macros . All of these templates will set default values for each macro, but you can override the macro on a host-by-host basis as you apply the template(s) to the host.

Assuming you're using the official templates, I find the web interface at

very good. Just browse to the template you're using and review the section for "Macros Used". That will help you get an idea of what per-host configurability is allowed by the template. Once you know the macro name, setting an override on a particular host is just a matter of setting that macro at the host level, See the section for "Macros" at https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...fig/hosts/host

If that doesn't get you pointed in the right direction, follow up with more info on which specific templates you're using and what you would like to adjust and I'm sure someone will be able to help you.

Thanks. I am using the built-in windows OS agent active template.

For the NetApp issue I'm using the ontap 9.5 template from the share site.
