    Migrate Zabbix 4.4.6 to 5.0

    Hi,

I have zabbix 4.4.6 running on RedHat, unfortunately, RedHat doesn't have subscription hence I am building new Zabbix 5.0 lts running on centos.

I would like to know how can i migrated existing hosts, configuration and data to new server without breaking it.

    Thanks

Don't build a new CentOS server running Zabbix 5.0, build a new CentOS system running Zabbix 4.4.6. Get the new host working with the exact same version of Zabbix you're currently using, make sure it's stable, then do the upgrade to Zabbix 5.0.x.

The reason why you don't want to switch from 4.4.6 to 5.0.x while also moving to a new host is that it greatly complicates the database work. It can definitely be done, but it's much more complicated, because you need to account for all of the Zabbix database schema changes between your 4.4.6 database SQL export from your old Red Hat host and the (changed) Zabbix 5.0.x database on your new CentOS host.

What database and version are you using on the old host, and what database and version will you be using on the CentOS host?

If you already have 5.0 on CentOS 8, then the easiest thing to do would be to upgrade your old Red Hat Zabbix install to the exact same version, so that the database schemas again match, and then do an SQL dump/export on the old system and an SQL import on the new system.

The problem is that my redhat is not covered under subscription and and i can't see to get the php 7.x packages without it.
