Creating maps requires write access on hosts ?

Hi,

I'm playing with maps, and I discovered that, to be able to add a host or a host group on my map, I need to have read-write access on this host / host group.

Am I right or is it just a problem on my Zabbix config ?

And if I'm right, then why is it so ? I thought that Read-only access would have been sufficient.... IMHO, Maps are just a view of systems' current status, and you shouldn't need write access to a server to be able to add it to a map... right ?

Any explanation would be very welcome...

Hi Michel,

The very short answer is that there is no problem in your particular Zabbix config. This is how Zabbix maps work for now.
