    How to clear a trigger?

I made a change on a server, which modified /etc/passwd.
This triggered PROBLEM /etc/passwd has been changed.

I acknowledged the event, but it's still categorized as a PROBLEM. How can I tell the zabbix server that this is not a problem, clear or reset the problem state, and make everything go back to the OK state?

I think there was talk about giving users a way to do it, but I am not aware that they have implemented anything on that yet.

Anyway, that is a time-based trigger. It will clear on it's own in like an hour I believe. I never found that particular trigger to be useful for me, and is one that I have disabled at the template level.

It turns out, half an hour later, the trigger cleared itself.

The default trigger compares the checksum for the last two values, I believe it also checks the password file every 30 or 60 minutes.

If you want this trigger to clear quicker the easiest way would be to increase the polling interval for that item.

Rather then manually clearing them, you can also just acknowledge them with notes as well while your waiting for them to auto clear.
