SMTP Sever configuration in zabbix 5.0

Hello,

I am working on zabbix 5.0 version on ubuntu 18.04
I was trying to configure alerts through mail server(zimbra) , but i am facing integration issues,can anyone help in this.
I also read that Zabbix it self has a SMTP server. How to enable it for alerts? please help.

I wonder where you read that the zabbix server has smtp server? The zabix server acts as a mail client when sending messages.

Hi,
Thanks for the clarification.
As of now i am using zimbra 8.8.
When i add the mediatype for zimbra and test, zabbix throws me the error" Couldn't connect to server:failed to connect to mail.nms.com 587: Connection refused"
