I have been following the install directions for Zabbix on Ubuntu 20.04 and have gotten to the point of creating the initial database. I try mysql -uroot -p and am returned that it cannot connect to the local MySQL server. Am I missing a step?
I'm a "newb" too, have you checked that MySQL is installed and running ?
It gets the same message that I cannot connect to the local database. I followed the directions, as stated on the website, so I would assume that the DB should be running?
