Item IDs

Hello everyone I hope you are all doing great!

I've been playing with the zabbix api lately, retrieving some metrics from hosts and I've come across this question..

Are ItemIds Unique per metric per host? Or could they be shared between hosts?

I'm really asking if they item ids are directly linked to a host or if they are just "metrics"

If they aren't linked to any particular host then i would be careful enough to also specify the hostids parameter.

Yes, itemid's are unique and will apply to only one host.
