    Long SMS notification won't deliver

Hi, I noticed that when there is a long notification that is sent by SMS, I sometimes won't receive it because I it's too long.
I was wondering what the characters limit is per message and if there a way to split the SMS? or do I just need to send by SMS less information as possible?
    Thank you

Our SMS service (At east the one that got complaints) did the splitting, people would receive messages as (1 of 4) (2 of 4) etc. I think your character limit is being imposed by the SMS service, not by Zabbix.

Hi, I just figured the limit for my SMS Dongle is 160 characters.
When I try to send more than 160, I get the following error:

How can I tell if it this is something on my carrier side or Zabbix?

I think it's just reporting that the SMS service refused the message. Does your service have an email gateway? We use a media type of email instead of SMS (didn't want a modem) maybe that is what chunks the message.

Do you know the email equivalent of the SMS address? For example, mine is <phone number>@txt.att.net. You could then test message sizes using an email client.
