I'm running zabbix on a ubuntu box monitoring a bunch of ubuntu servers. We have it set up to watch log files and when it sees specific entries trigger actions (restart a process, reboot the box, etc.). The majority of the time this works well without any issues but occasionally zabbix will reprocess a log file starting at the beginning and triggering actions that are not "current".
Has anyone else seen this happen? Or does anyone know any scenarios that would cause zabbix to do this? I can't see any commonality between when this happens and when our servers randomly start rebooting at 4 am that is a problem.
