I am creating a solution for a new (green-field) Zabbix installation. The Zabbix sever will be located in the main data centre and the Proxy servers in 8 global locations. Each location data centre is connected to a private MPLS WAN. I need resilience for the Zabbix server and database. This will support 24/7 monitoring operation and therefore must be available at all times. I was going to use Corosync/Pacemaker for the server resilience in an Active/Passive configuration and host the 2 VMs in the VMware farm. My company has a SAN in the same location that the Zabbix server will be located in and so I want to use that because it is setup as a High Availability resource. Does this sound a reasonable approach? What alternative designs could I use to achieve the same objective?
