zabbix 5.0 - ldap config

I'm having trouble with frontend, trying to configure ldap authentication. When configuring the ldap authentication when I have filled out the form it gives no error but throws me back to the first authentication tab. And when the form is revisited it is blank. This worked for me on 4.4 config but this behaves somehow differently. This is on ubuntu 18.04. ldapsearch is working for me. Just wondering if there is a module that is missing, or where I can look for clues.

Verify that openldap and something like php72-php-ldap are installed. I use RHEL based, so my package names are different.

Got this working, still there where no messages, just back to the original screen.
Used ldaps and needed to import the certificate for the domain controller into the the file pointed to by /etc/ldap/ldap.conf

Hello I am having problems to connect my zabbix54 to LDAP (Active Directory).

I followed 3 Authentication (zabbix.com) but I am getting wrong login or password.

Can anyone help me?
