Host Discovery Rule Exclude Port Types SNMP

    Hello,

I have a lot of devices with a ton of internal/system/cross copy/backplane ports that I don't want or need to monitor. In face that only ones that I DO want to monitor all begin with "muxponder" for the port name. Is there a way to only discover these port types and exclude everything else? It's all SNMP polling and I'm using a modified SNMP interfaced template that uses the 64bit counters instead of the 32 bit ones. Here is the other junk I'm seeing, 20 pages with very few of it relating to relevant ports:

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
try to filter the discovery rule on macro {#SNMPVALUE} with value ^muxponder
or create a regular expression in Administration -> General and put it as a filter.

Alright, I added that to my discovery rule and it just did it's discovery but those ports are still there. Am I going to have to unlink/clear the templates and let it start over discovering everything?

        Hi,
maybe is better if you could check the discovered items, if the filter works some items will be marked for remove, it's a discovery rule parameter.

Ahhhh it says this item is not discovered anymore and will be removed in 29 days etc. Any way I can speed up the removal?

Check Discovery Rule -> (name of rule) -> Keep lost resources period (in days)
            Sincerely yours,
