We use a collection of items gathered from Web Scenarios to include latency, success/failure, and so on. Generally this works out pretty well.
We also use a collection of traditional, organic items. One of which is to use the web.page.regexp item, which also works pretty well:
web.page.regexp[{HOST.IP1},/internaljobs/status?api,80,APISUCCESS,,0]
I wanted to confirm that there was no item or condition of a Web scenario that would tell me specifically if the string APISUCCESS was or was not found in any step of a Web Scenario. I understand that I can make additional steps in my Web scenario, but I do not believe this will make a difference, since the success/failure of the Web scenario is determined by the sum of all the items that the scenario reports on, not just specifically an event where the Required string is not matched.
Any suggestions, experience, tips, or feedback with regards to this type of check would be greatly appreciated.
