Action alert should not work immediately

First thing I am new to monitoring tools, pls help me in this situation,

One of my router (ILL-link) is getting down, after 1 or 2 mins later it is getting up automatically. Now the action is sending mail immediately whenever the link goes down/up.

My requirement is,

1. Action alert(mail/sms) should work only, if the link not got up within 5 mins.

2. If the link is got up within 5 minutes, I don't want any mail/sms alerts.

Is this possible...?

Hi,

There are 2 ways:
- Update action, so it sends email/sms after 5 minutes.
- Update the trigger, so it only fires after 5 minutes.

With the first one, updating the action, will affect all of your triggers. So all of the triggers will "wait" 5 minutes before an notification is sent. If the problem is solved in this 5 minutes, no notifications are sent.

The 2nd option, is updating the trigger to "wait" for 5 minutes. You can take for example "Template App Zabbix Agent", here is the trigger "Zabbix agent on {HOST.NAME} is unreachable for 5 minutes". (When there is no data received in the last 5 minutes, this trigger will be fired). Maybe this will help.
