how to compile after package install

    Zabbix 2.4.4
    Centos 6.5

I successfully installed the Zabbix 2.4.4 package and got it configured.

But now I see that I can't monitor SNMP from a package install. I have to install it from source with a special configuration option (according to the doc).

So, how best to do that? I've looked at the doc about building from source. But I'm not sure what to do about the package install.

Should I just do yum remove zabbix*, and then build from source?

How do I preserve the config files that I already have?

    Anything else I should know?

    thank you.

    Hi,

Zabbix packages are installed with all options enabled including SNMP.

Please add a host with SNMP interface, link some SNMP template to it and see if the data comes in. If not, check what errors do you get. But anyways you don't need to reinstall Zabbix, no.

    Best Regards,
    Ingus
