    can i monitor a shared folder?

    hello, i have installed a zabbix 2.4.4 in a server debian wheezy. but i dont know if has a posibility to monitor the shared folder in a host.

    would appreciate very much if someone can help me to do it.

    shared from where ? is it an nfs mount ?

      yes NFS, sorry , I have a shared folder on a server that I want to know if it can be accessed by another computer in my network. so I want to know if zabbix can do that kind of monitoring

        You can monitor the NFS shared folder from the target server.

          yes you can monitor it on the host where the share is mounted...

            but I need is to know if it is accessible from another computer. how do I know that within the same server? there is a monitor for that?.

              On the host server, the share is local, so it is part of the local volume. On the target server it is a mount and you will see this as a mount. So, for example you share /opt/tool from server1 and mount it as /opt/tool on server2, you should be able to monitor it on server2 as /opt/tool. On server1, it is all part of /opt.

                use something like

                stat -f <your mount point name> | grep Type | awk -F":" '{print $4}'|sed 's/ //'

                and send 0 or 1 to zabbix server based on output of above command. You can use timeout command if you fear stat command might timeout on heavily used remote shares.
