Template Screens vs Host Dashboards in 5.2

Hi,

I was wondering a simple thing. I tried to us screens in templates with Zabbix 5.0 and it is quite restrictive when it comes to making nice graphs. Meanwhile global dashboards seem to allow one to bring up arbitrary items to makea mixed graph.

Making a graph in template requires items defined in the template and items which were discovered can't be used. When a graph is made in discovery rule, it is able to use items which were discovered in that rule only. So it was not possible to combine similar items from multiple discovery rules.

So will/does this new "dashboard" feature coming to templates allow multiple item prototypes from different discovery rules to be combined?

Well, I installed the zabbix appliance to test this...
New template dashboard has options: Clock, Graph (classic) , Graph Prototype (this has option to select Simple Graph Prototype), Plain Text
Old template screens have: Simple Graph and Simple Graph Prototype.
So, not much improvement there. That said, I understand that it is not an easy job to combine discovered items from multiple discvery rules. It was not a good iidea anyway
