    Windows service names for discovery

New user of Zabbix 5.0.5 and like so many other users here I have run into a problem where some Windows servers report problems for Services that "come and go".

So I want to remove some of the problematic services from the discovery all together.

So I go to Administration -> General -> Regular expressions -> Windows service names for discovery

I add the services I want to exclude to this regex. I delete the problematic hosts, but when they are re-discovered I still get notifications for the services that I want to exclude...

Is this regular expression actually used by the default "Template OS Windows services by Zabbix agent"? Or do I need to actually *enable* this regex somehow?

    How can I check?

There is no special enabling for global regexes.
So what you are saying is that if I have not done anything to manually make use of the regex, it is never actually applied to any templates?

What I wanted to say is, that older versions of Zabbix (and templates from that time also) used that global regex. It is there still present, probably for backwards compatibility or whatever... Newer versions of Zabbix come with newer versions of templates, which do not use that global regex any more. Those regexes are in template (modules) macros. So if this was your fresh install of 5.0.5 and you edited a global regex, then it is not actually used in "Template Module Windows services by Zabbix agent (active)" templates. You should open that template module and look into Macros.
You could have identified all that by yourself also, if you would open triggers/items config and actually verified, what is used and where...
