We are looking to dump our whatsup gold subscription and move to a cheaper solution. Everyone seems to agree that zabbix i the way to go and it actually does look like its powerful enough to suit our needs.
However, one of the problems I am running into is the very steep learning curve. One of the great things about whatsup is that you just add the IP address of the device and everything seemingly configures itself. With zabbix, so far I've found that there is a lot of manual confirguration that has to go on to get this software usable.
Does anyone know of any good resources for learning zabbix and helping our team get off the ground? Im suessay writerre the official documentation is great but thats just not a way I can learn. I've never benefited from having to read a really long document that pours over every single fine detail, most of which I would ever use. Do you know of a guide (or even better, a video) that gives a high overview of how things work, how to configure and how to get up and running with basic monitoring? I would definitely be interested even if it was a paid product as well. Thanks gang!
