    SNMP re-discovery of dead hosts

Here's the behavior I'm seeing when using network discovery using SNMP:
    1. A host is added to Zabbix when it's found via SNMP (works well)
    2. I turn off SNMP on the host and delete the host from Zabbix
    3. Zabbix re-discovers the host again. The SNMP of the host is marked red, but it's still re-inserted into Zabbix
How do I prevent this from happening? I think Zabbix finds it in the dhosts table and I'm seeing this post about dealing with this problem: https://www.zabbix.com/forum/zabbix-...scovered-hosts. But that suggests manipulating the db directly. Is there a decent work around without going to the db?

Note, if a host has its SNMP off and it has never been in Zabbix, it doesn't get discovered as expected.
