    Gaps on Graphs from Proxy

    Hello!

I've experienced "gaps" on the web monitoring of some pages from a proxy. Not only on web monitoring, but the gaps appear on all other graphs, like "Zabbix data gathering process busy %" of that proxy. You can see the gaps and Zabbix performance graph on the atached images.

PS.: We use Zabbix 2.2.9, on a Red Hat virtual server.

    Any help is apreciated

Just switch in your templates from "zabbix agent" passive items to "zabbix agent (active)".
Switch as well agent configuration from passive (stop using Server=<your.proxy>) and start using active agents (ServerActive=<your.proxy>)

      Gaps persist

I've tried to change items from "zabbix agent" to "zabbix agent (active)", but the gaps persist. I've detached all templates from the proxy, it only check 3 web scenarios now, but the gaps persist.

I was reading something about a possibility of the network interface is being flooded... but after i detach the templates from proxy, it's queue came to 0.

I really don't know what's happening, any other suggestions? Need more info?

      Thanks in advance

Try to enable DebugLevel=4 on agent and observe do you have timeouts on collecting data on exact items.
If yes you need to have look closer on why it takes so long to sample some monitoring data.

          Hello again,

I changed to DebugLevel=4 and i see many lines like that:

1782:20150512:082919.899 no active checks on server [<PROXYIP>:10051]: host [PROXYHOSTNAME] not found

However, on zabbix_agentd.conf of the proxy, the parameter ServerActive points to Proxy IP. But on zabbix_proxy.conf the ProxyMode is 1(passive mode). Is that right? The proxy sends to itself active checks, even when is configured to passive mode?

            Resolved!

When talking with a colleague, i remembered that we are migrating from Zabbix v2.2 to v2.4 and that two zabbix-servers were using that same proxy, and that proxy could be supercharged with this situation.

So, after delete the proxy from the new instance of Zabbix (v2.4) that we are using, the monitoring graphs become continuous again.

            I hope this help someone.
