Zabbix Monitors for Standby Data Center

    Dear All,

Wish you a Happy new 2021.

We need to monitor infra and business applications in a standby data center. We have a stand alone zabbix 4.4 on Linux to monitor the standby Data center
Hardware, Network and OS monitors need to be available all the time...
Business applications monitors need to be activated only in case of a DR (as the applications/DBs will be stopped and we will start them only in case the primary Data center is not available)

What is the best and easiest way to activate/deactivate all business applications and DB monitors in one shot when we are in DR/Normal mode of operations ?

    Many thanks for your help

Any ideas what is the best way to globally control triggers in case we are in DR mode ?

    Thanks

heba, sorry, but I could not understand what is your goal.

What do you mean when you say "OS monitors" and "application monitors"? Is it an actual screen?
Do you want to start standby applications using Zabbix triggers?

      Could you elaborate more?

        Hi Markfree

In the standby datacenter, the network devices and the servers (windows/Linux) are up and running always... only the deployed applications like (websphere, http servers, tomcat, Databases...etc) are stopped. We will only start up these applications and DBs when we are in the DR mode.

We need to start monitoring those applications and DBs only when we are in the DR mode

But all the time, we need the triggers from the Network and Operating systems templates.
Only when we are in DR, we will need triggers from the applications and DB templates

How can we control this ?

        Thanks
        Heba

Oh I think I see what you mean.

I'm not sure how to do that, but I might have seen something similar to what you are looking for at my job, not with Zabbix though.

I find your scenario very interesting. I'm not at work today but I will look into that.
