How to Monitor Virtual Servers inside F5 Loadbalancer

    Hi All,

Im just a newbie in zabbix and would like to learn from you guys. I am having difficulty configuring new item to monitor performance of virtual servers inside F5 Loadbalancer. I want to graph several OID's i got from snmp walk from our loadbalancer, when i try snmp walk and get with the OID's it gives me some data like = Counter64:321 but when i try to configure that OID to our Zabbix Server the status is always "NOT SUPPORTED".

Attached is a printsceen of what im trying to monitor. Please help me guys i've been trying to figure this one out for a week now huhu

Possibly you're interested in this template (which admittedly should have been better placed on https://share.zabbix.com/)
I'm not familiar with BIG-IPs and thus Virtual servers in this context at all. Further the template was actually only intended to be an example.

Anyhow, maybe it's somehow usable to you.

Hi BDiE8VNy, the template in the link you have given contain some errors in the script that makes it unusable in the import template function of Zabbix. However.... the template you have given me have some very interesting and helpful information inside that enables me to get the data i need to graph the Virtual Servers inside the F5 Loadbalancer. Thank you so much for your help. Attached is one of the Virtual Server's connection info i have successfully graph.

Can you tell me what errors you are referring to, because I can successfully import the template.
Or are you referring to value mappings?

Hi again BDiE8VNy, attached is the error i encountered when trying to import the template. I tried editing the template for zabbix to successfully import but i repeatedly failed. I guess my scripting skills is to bad to make it work.

I'm trying to get this template setup also, finding the value mappings wasn't too difficult, however, I noticed that this template uses a linked template called "Template SNMP common" but I have no idea which template that is. It isn't part of the standard zabbix 2.4 templates.

Does anyone have this template and if so can you export it and post it here?

Huh! I have forgotten to unlink it.
Just ignore/remove the linkage. The "Template SNMP common" is a generic template. It includes just a SNMP trapper item for SNMPv2-MIB related traps and another fallback one for everything else.

Ok that's what I had done but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

Is it normal when using this template or snmpwalk, that the F5 shows no results for any of the F5 mibs?

An example, if I snmpwalk and grep for F5-BIGIP it should show all the values for all the F5 mibs, but I get no results. Because of this I can't poll for the pools ... or any of the auto discovery items. Am I maybe missing something?
