    Too many zabbix processes running

    Hello,

I have configured Zabbix on Debian and when I run the zabbix_server script, I come up with these many processes:

    Code:
    alberto 3737 0.0 0.2 157080 2552 ? S 17:23 0:00 ./zabbix_server
    alberto 3739 0.0 0.1 157080 1040 ? S 17:23 0:00 ./zabbix_server: configuration syncer [waiting 60 sec for processes]
    alberto 3740 0.0 0.1 157080 1256 ? S 17:23 0:00 ./zabbix_server: db watchdog [synced alerts config in 0.003426 sec, idle 60 sec]

Yes if you are using passive monitoring. Switch to active one (change all item types to "zabbix agent (active)" and stop using on agents Server and start using ServerAtive)

So, ¿should I switch to active in EVERY host monitored to have a single zabbix_server, or do I have to touch something in the server side?

      Thanks a million!

Using active agent monitoring means that agent is initiating connection to srv/prx so this part must be changed on every agent.
First try to change all items to "zabbix agent (active)" type. This part can be done centrally from srv.

¿Where exactly can I change this option?

Add in your web browser to your web frontend base url:
            Code:
            items.php?form_refresh=1&filter_type=0&filter_value_type=-1&filter_state=-1&filter_delay=&filter_status=-1&filter_application=&filter_history=&filter_with_triggers=-1&filter_name=&filter_trends=&filter_templated_items=0&filter_key=&filter_set=Filter
This will give you list of all untemplated items which as item type have "zabbix agent"
mark all of them and do mass update changing type to "zabbix agent (active)"

Do you see improvement after changing type of items type to active?
This filter which I gave you should list all item used on lowest level in templates so after apply mass update you should not have at all "zabbix agent" items.

I haven't had the chance to test it yet. I'll tell you whenever I can.

                  Thanks!
