Canot read mysql server from template

I moved the .conf file from the zabbix_agent2.d/ to the /etc/zabbix dir and that allowed the agent to start and is communicating.
So now that it's running again, what I'd like to do is add more metrics to monitor but none to be found.

Maybe I need to start a new post now.

As Atsushi wrote, mysql.ping is built into agent in later versions... Does agent start up if you comment that userparameter "UserParameter=mysql.ping[*], mysqladmin -h"$1" -P"$2" ping" ? (and move that conf file back to zabbix_agent2.d...)
