How to force Low Level Discovery as Dependent Item

    Hi guys,

I have a custom Disovery Rule as an independent Item, it works just fine for the first time, but i cant force the check and it doesnt re-check because this types of rules dont have update interval., so when i add a new item or change something it doesnt update. How can i force a check in this cases?

Get a new value for the master item on which the “dependent item" depends.

      HI, thanks for the response!

But has to be a differente value? Because it checks every hour and nothing changes neither new items get discovered..

Sometimes when I fail to get what I want using discovery, I create a zabbix-agent passive item, fetch the data, make changes to the system and then again fetch data. If I get the expected results, I then implement the same logic to discovery rule.
This way you can execute test check by yourself.

          I found out my problem!
The rule became unsupported everytime i created an calculated item there, so it wasn't discovering anything new! My new prolem is creating a calculated item here

change something unimportant in the LLD rule (for example, the name of the item prototype) and see if there will be changes ? Also check. then there is no preprocessing discarding the unchanged value.

Hi guys, i managed to get everything working.

the key has to have the #MACRO or else it doesn't discover the items and stops the whole rule of discovery from working.

              Thanks for all the help!

I don't think creating calculated items from discovery is a good idea...

All items that are referenced from the calculated item formula must exist and be collecting data (exceptions in functions and unsupported items). Also, if you change the item key of a referenced item, you have to manually update any formulas using that key.
