    Zabbix database is not available.

Hi! Recently a problem with Zabbix Database has begun (the event takes place about 2 a.m.). The notification says: MySQL database "zabbix" on "localhost" is not available: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111). MariaDB crashes: systemd-coredump[1176110]: Process 991467 (mysqld) of user 27 dumped core.

My Zabbix version is 5.0.8 on CentOS8 (8.3.1-5), my SQL version is 10.3.27-MariaDB.

Is there a reason and above all a solution to this problem? Every day I got a DB crash, no good :-(

I thank You very much for Your help
    Sara

Hi! Anyone has information/advices about this issue? :-) I noticed it may happen that even without notification "Zabbix database is not available." In fact Maria DB keeps crashing once every night. Sara

You need to check the error log for MariaDB to figure out why it crashed.

      Maybe:
      sudo cat /var/log/mysql/error.log
This is not a Zabbix related issue, you may find more help at MariaDB forums.

In future you may consider using PostgreSQL...

Hi Yurtesen, I thank You for Your reply. In fact, looking at the graphs (and doing some researches in Jira) the problems started when MariaDB was upgraded to version 10.3.27. I've just wrote a post in their forum. Have a nice day, Sara

I'm not so sure it's a Mariadb issue. I think the problem is related to DB Size (about 30 Gb). History Syncer goes 100% at midnight and then MySQL crashes.
