Monitoring AWS RDS instance opened port

    Hi all,

I am fairly new in the whole "cloud monitoring" game. I've been living on premises for over 2 decades, but its time to move on.

Anyways, can you suggest a solution how to monitor if a port 5432 is opened on my xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.us-east-1.rds.amazonaws.com RDS instance ?

    Thanks

    Hello.

You have few possibilities on cloud.
I have not info your network setup but generaly you need acces to be able check this port.
You should define your network rules(VPC/GW/ACL/.......) to be able expose this port to your zabbix on-premise installation or use zabbix proxy (vm/container) inside AWS and setup secure connection between you Zabbix server and proxy.
Then setup network rules inside AWS to be able use this proxy to monitor what you want.
