    hung service/app.

How to monitor hung state of an application via zabbix?
What happens when a certain app( service on Windows, process on Linux) is in HUNG? The memory and/or process usage by that service should be going high?
Anyone has any experience in monitoring HUNG service?

    Thank you so much~

We do this by monitoring the log files. If the logs stop filling up, the service is hung. For services that have an output (say for instance, MSMQ or SQL) you could also measure the output and if it drops, the service is hung. For services that don't have logging or output I think it is very difficult, perhaps impossible even, to discern "hung" from "operational". You could try creating something with performance counters but I don't think that it will ever be reliable, perhaps with some exceptions (say, a specific service that when it is hung, always goes to 99% CPU usage)

      Hi
      by monitoring several things
maybe in your case is Memory leak or CPU usage .
In my case , because i knew The app has a memory leak when it opened for a long time on server , i create an item(SSH agent in my case) for restarting it by 6hour interval ! ))
      it worked for me.

Hello, I have a problem to monitor application process. I have made an update of zabbix from version 4 to 5. I have been able to migrate all hosts and templates. But non-windows processes do not monitor me. In version 4 they worked without problems Does anyone know why it happens?
