    Track cumulative data usage?

Hello. I searched here and on the Internet in general looking for a way to track and display the total amount of all in/out traffic in Zabbix. Seems to be a common desire, but I haven't found anyone who has done it. It would be great to be able to set a monthly limit and get a warning at different percentages of usage. I just want to use it on my dumb little home hobby net. Any suggestions? Thanks for reading and any replies.

Interesting idea. Although there is no built-in mechanism for that yet. So, you mean, for example, to track down all the traffic that is coming in/out of Zabbix server instance?

Thanks for the reply. Not really, but more a network gateway, like a firewall or router. But I suppose once developed it could be used for any monitored device.

dimir I'm partway there , as result of this post: Total incoming/outgoing network traffic for 2 interfaces - ZABBIX Forums

but what I see is a running graph of I/O on my WAN IF.

I created the listed items but monitoring I/O on the WAN IF only. Rather than the current stats of I/O on the WAN, I want to accrue totals that I can clear at month's end.

This is what I'd rather create, below. This a graph in Excel that I have manually created from daily data posted by my ISP. Any replies appreciated. Thanks again!

Got it figured out! I'll type something up later on!

EDIT - Well, I thought I was on the right track as I was getting an upward sloping stacked graph with what appeared to be sums of in/out BW, but I then realized my 5 minute polling was only logging the I/O for that instant. I guess I'll be going back to Plan A, using the ISP data validated by the RRD data in my pfSense firewall.

We're doing this using Grafana with some custom dashboards. We do this both for 95th percentile and aggregated transfer for billing cycles. We've found Zabbix data collection engine to be great, but when it comes to data manipulation or data management, it's not the best tool for the job.

Could you share what your Grafana dashboard is using to graph/show this data from Zabbix? We also use Grafana to show Zabbix data, but trying to figure out a way to display usage of data from an interface in a certain time period.
