how to select only few interface for monitoring of a switch/firewall

How can I monitor only some interfaces and not ALL items in my routers/firewall ?

Because when I poll my router/firewall whith SNMP Device template, it returns 107 items

im also a newbie and configuring zabbix for first time.

Maybe you can create several applications to organize. So you can put inside only some interfaces in an application, and the others in another application to split your logical.

For example, in your SNMP Device template, you can create in each item that you want to monitor a New application with a identifier, ex: "MyApplication". (Templates --> ITEM, field New application)

After, you can create another Template, cloning full your SNMP Device template (that contains 107 itens).

In this other template, you can select in the filter only the Applications that you can monitor ("MyApplication"), and the others you can delete because they are in the parent template.

thanx i will check and report it back. im newbie to zabbix thats things are little bit complicated for me

On my side i define a regex on the LLD filter with the interfaces names

Or you can modify template and set discovery with no enable option (Item prototype tab for discovery and "create enabled" option off). After that you can chose what interface item you will enable.
