Big requests out of memory

Sometimes I make huge requests for a lot of items and it crashes, if i check the logs it says out of memory tried to allocate...... about 400mb and only 128 available

I tried increasing the memory in php.ini but it seems there are other places where i should also increase the memory, does anybody know all the places where i should increase it?

I had a quit similar issue.
I had to increase the memory alocated to my database connexions.
