what is the shell script standards for zabbix

I see that script can return different data types ... I wonder how numeric or log data type can be returned from shell scripts

Could you be more specific on what you mean by shell script standards? I personally rarely use shell scripts at all when using Zabbix as i can monitor most things natively or via SNMP.

Data types define how Zabbix should store the data in the database, so any type of text can be defined as a log datatype, and the same can be said for numeric data types.
