    Migrate from PRTG to Zabbix

    Hi there,

I want to migrate from PRTG to Zabbix. Can someone please tell me where should I start from? Is there any manual that can help me?

    Many thanks,
    Beroshko

Have a look at the various youtube videos if you want something more like a tutorial for the various aspects. I know that e.g. Dmitry Lambert has put many there. Look also at past blogs and webinar/meetup recordings. I suspect that you will not find something that is very specific to PRTG->>Zabbix migration but you should find a lot of information about how Zabbix works. The best thing is to just install it in a test-setting and go ahead and try things.

I know it is a little late, but anyone who wants to do this:
          1. Install a test machine (and keep it at that) and check things out, it works differently than PRTG
          2. Install a machine for production use and distinguish testing from production!

for the actual migration you should have a look at your PRTG server, especially the api Page

Find the live data tab and export what you need to csv/excel
          Instructions here: https://kb.paessler.com/en/topic/598...-list-to-excel

With that you have what you need to check off each and every item implemented in zabbix.
If you dont want agents you can simply add your zabbix servers (test + production) to the allowed list for queries.
That way you can pull in all the items you had in PRTG.

On the other hand you could take advantage of all the neat auto-pulling of zabbix to discover your environment.
Since zabbix has no pay-wall for item-count you can have your cake and eat it too!

Depending on how large your setup is you might call in help to do it right.
But it is worth a shot.
In my opinion Zabbix is way more capable especially regarding the graphs where you can click around and see which value means what and not just a plain image of the graph.

            Não faça isso!

O Zabbix é extremamente mais dificil que o PRTG! A comunidade do Zabbix não se ajuda!

            Boa sorte!
